Commissioning Process
The Potato Council issues Invitations to Tender for research work; Calls for Proposals; and at some times during the year will also receive speculative proposals from research contractors. When we are seeking to receive applications, the relevant information and forms will be made available via this page (see below).
Call for Proposals: Potato Cyst Nematode Research
(17 April 2012): Potato Council intends to commission new research relating to the management of PCN under field conditions in GB. The aim of the work would be to substantially improve the ability of the GB potato industry to manage PCN populations. Further information is provided in the Call for Proposals document in the link below.
The Call for Proposals is open to all research contractors. The Research Proposal form (below) should be used and Proposals not using this format will not be considered. An electronic version of the completed Research Proposal form should be submitted to sue.cowgill@potato.ahdb.org.uk by 10am on Wednesday 6th June 2012. Consideration will not be extended to forms received after this deadline.

Other Sponsorship
The Potato Council currently acts as an industrial sponsor on Defra LINK projects, and is prepared to support the submission of expressions of interest to Technology Strategy Board (TSB) competitions, provided that certain criteria are met. Please email sue.cowgill@potato.ahdb.org.uk for further information.
Studentships
The Potato Council will consider requests to act as an industrial sponsor for Research Council studentships and other studentship schemes.
