Sprout suppression R&D at SBSCR

5 July 2011

Effective sprout suppression is a fundamental part of potato storage. Although temperature can sometimes be used, sprouting must often be controlled by application of post-harvest treatments. The use of such treatments has been under scrutiny. AHDB Potato Council is at the forefront of research looking at alternative treatments, and looking at other ways of applying existing treatments.

Current and recent research carried out on sprout suppression includes the following PCL projects:

  • R 197
  • R 198
  • R 243
  • R 279
  • R 265
  • R 298
  • R 412
  • R 414
  • R 426
  • R 438

Please contact Adrian Briddon to discuss these projects.
