Industry Code Of Best Practice For Application Of CIPC

Publication Date:
15 August 2012

Chlorpropham (or CIPC) is isopropyl-N-(3-chlorophenyl) carbamate. It is an agrochemical which is widely used as a sprout suppressant on stored potatoes. In particular, for potato storage in the processing sector, its use is almost universal, as it is necessary to store potatoes for processing at relatively warm temperatures (6-13°C) in order to maintain frying quality.

This document belongs to the Potato Industry CIPC Stewardship Group and is hosted here by AHDB Potato Council.
