James Daw

James has been growing potatoes all his life. The family business, W.B. Daw and Son is based in Staffordshire. James also grows combinable crops, has a livestock enterprise which rears beef through to finishing based on a pedigree Red Poll herd and which, together with the sheep flock, utilises a large area of HLS natural grassland.

 

Potatoes form a substantial part of the farm`s activities and the crop is all grown for processing and is marketed through two grower groups which James co-founded. For the last two years he has taken a seat on the Research and Knowledge Transfer Committee.
